Scarves & Stoles

Scarves and stoles are smaller versions of a shawl and are usually worn around the neck to keep warm and accentuate the outerwear. These are more popular in the western world and have been part of the consumers' attire there for centuries.

India has undertaken the production of these items over the last few decades, primarily with export perspective. With their unmatchable skills in weaving of shawls and traditional sarees, Indian handloom weavers have very easily adapted to the production of scarves and stoles, which are produced in wool, cotton, silk, linen and viscose. Unlike machine made, rotary printed scarves and stoles, which are largely produced in polyester; the handwoven variety has much greater richness in textures and designs. They are usually woven with coloured yarns in dobby, jacquard, chiffon, sateen & plain weaves in designs like floral, geometric, stripes, checks and carry a variety of surface decorations like embroidery, block printing, batik, hand painting and embellishments.

Indian hand-made scarves and stoles are very popular amongst the consumers around the world and their demand continues to go up year after year.
